Built in 1935 and designed by famed architect Mary E.J. Colter, Bright Angel Lodge has a natural, rustic character and is in the center of South Rim activity, serving as the check-in point for the renowned Grand Canyon mule rides.

Opening its doors in 1905, El Tovar Hotel, a former Harvey House, is considered the premier lodging facility at the Grand Canyon. Constructed of native stone and Oregon pine, this historic hotel was built as a destination resort and provides an air of venerable dignity.

Phantom Ranch in Grand Canyon is tucked beside Bright Angel Creek on the north side of the Colorado River and is the only lodging facility below the canyon rim. The Fred Harvey Company became the concessioner for the camp in 1922 and hired the American architect Mary E.J.
