Built in 1889 and opened as a motel in 1949, The Historic Magnolia House was one of five hotels between Atlanta, Georgia and Richmond, Virginia that allowed African American travelers to stay. Known by its formal name, the Daniel D. Debutts House, is on the National Register of Historic Places and is in the South Greensboro National Register Historic District. In beautiful Queen Anne style, The Historic Magnolia House is a private and comfortable place to stay in the south side of Greensboro, North Carolina. Hosting many famous musicians like Ray Charles, Ike & Tina Turner, Jackie Robinson, Louis Armstrong and so many others, the halls practically echo with history. With four guestrooms inspired by the aesthetics of the 1950s and 1960s, the accommodations are draped in bold colors and textures with mid-century modern design.
